About this deal

All Necron Overlords (as with other types that have been identified by Imperial xeno-scholars as belonging to their complex ruling caste) are believed to fall within the bounds of distinct dynastic structures and identifiable noble "houses" -- powerful military and territorial factions within the Necron race. The Sautekh crownworld's ruling phaeron had been one of the few to perish during hibernation and, once they had quashed immediate alien threats, the remaining Sautekh nobles had moved to seize the throne. A Terran decade of internecine civil war followed, with no faction able to gain victory.

However, Zahndrekh's mind did not suffer complete engrammatic damage during his bio-transference. His moments of delusion are interwoven with moments of clarity. In one of these rare moments of lucidity, Zahndrekh revealed to his Vargard that he had not actually suffered engrammatic damage during the Great Sleep. Instead, he simply sometimes chooses to play the part of the fool. Using their mastery of advanced interdimensional geometry, the Necrons built massive chambers that could house tens of thousands of their kind in a space seemingly larger on the inside than without. Deep beneath these pyramidal structures, the Necrons stored their horrific weaponry and erected powerful temporal stabilisers that would shield these warriors and their savage weapons from the ravages of time much like a stasis field. Many of these exploratory teams are never heard from again once they begin to explore Necrontyr ruins that inevitably lead them to the tombs of the dormant Necrons that lie beneath the sands. Some Tomb Worlds were once the settled worlds of the ancient Necrontyr species that eventually became the cybernetic Necrons after their enslavement by the C'tan, and Necrontyr ruins are sometimes found on or beneath the surfaces of such worlds. Many Necron Tomb Worlds are now Dead Worlds, largely lifeless and barren deserts.

Collecting Your Army

Necron Tomb Worlds appear to have no permanent organisation or command structure, nor is the interaction of the various forces altogether clear to the savants of the Imperium. The Necrons' form of warfare could best be described as a continuous process of causality, as each battle, campaign and Harvest produces preordained responses from the controlling program of the Tomb World. However, they soon discovered that over an extended period of time, these robotic forms dulled their minds and their ability to feel any type of emotion or pleasure. Over many millennia, the ultimate outcome of this process of gradual desensitisation was that the vast majority of the Necrons became soulless warriors without awareness or thought beyond their basic engrammic programming. Asmothep - Phaeron of the Szarekhan Dynasty. When the Silent King, Szarekh, chose to exile himself rather than undergo the Great Sleep, many Necrons felt he was fleeing the mistakes he had made in the War in Heaven. Asmothep, however, was among those phaerons who believed Szarekh had chosen to do so for a greater purpose that was unknown to the Necrons of that time.

Priority Command - Three Gold-level Necron Lords form the highest Necron command structure yet encountered by the forces of the Imperium on the battlefield. These Necron Lords are responsible for all strategic decision-making and can override the command and communications of Bronze or Silver-level Necron Lords. They are also capable of committing and commanding the most powerful Necron units known to exist to combat, including the Pariahs, larger war machines like Tomb Stalkers, aerial forces and starships. Amongst the Necron nobles of a Tomb World, political infighting is common and there are always countless schemes playing out, albeit at a glacial pace by the standards of other intelligent races. As a result of their android natures, all Necrons tend towards calculating behaviour and a pretender will rarely move openly against his opponent if the chance of success is outweighed by the high probability of failure. The Tomb Worlds listed below represent no more than a handful of the many millions spread throughout the galaxy. Each revived world has its own idiosyncracies, and the number is ever growing. A Tomb World is one of the worlds across the Milky Way Galaxy where the ancient and terrible xenos known as the Necrons chose to go into hibernation over 60 million standard years ago, deep beneath its surface in their specially prepared catacombs and tombs.

Finally, Necron Fringeworlds are planets of tertiary importance to their ruling dynasty, not viewed as being of high-enough status to be numbered amongst a dynasty's Coreworlds. Staff of Light - A Staff of Light is both a weapon and a symbol of Necron authority. Its haft is actually a disguised Power Generator Rod and the crest is a finely tuned focussing device which allows the wielder to unleash searing green bolts of Gauss energy at his foes.
